2020: Frank Duffy

Frank Duffy

A dedicated volunteer and sports enthusiast, Frank Duffy has been a life-long contributor to the Hamilton community.

Over the past 65-plus years, he has been a contributor to the parishes of St. Lawrence, Our Lady of Lourdes and Corpus Christi. While at Our Lady of Lourdes parish, Frank started and ran a baseball league known as Mohawk Athletic Association. He moved on to be one of the pioneers of women’s basketball clubs in the city, creating Our Lady of Lourdes Club Basketball which was one the forerunners of the successful girls basketball programs still running today.

As a member of the Knights of Columbus, he ran various events that helped sustain many programs in our community; including the Knights of Columbus Free Throw Shooting Competition, that is currently running in our schools. For his efforts, Frank has been honoured with lifetime volunteer awards from both the Catholic Youth Organization and the City of Hamilton.
