Desmond, who was born in Belfast, has played Irish music all his life. After immigrating to Canada he started the Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann branch in Saskatoon. When he moved to Hamilton he started the first Irish session at a local bar where musicians could come to play.
Bonnie was born on Canada’s East coast where she grew up with the Gaelic traditions.
After the sessions moved to the Irish Canadian Club the Quinn’s and the Hamilton branch of Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann started the Hamilton Irish Arts Council.
We are all thankful that Desmond and Bonnie are helping to keep the Irish Culture and traditions alive in Hamilton.
